About
I am a journalist and documentary filmmaker with a degree from PUC-Rio. I currently work as a text editor and post-production editor on TV Globo’s Fantástico program. I directed and wrote the documentary series *Origens*, which explores the ancestry and cuisine of Benin in West Africa and Brazil, released in 2023 by UOL. In 2024, I served as a screenwriter for the series Maracutaia, produced by Pulo Filmes, which explores stories of corruption in Brazil.
In 2019, with support from the Edital Lab Curta program, the Rio de Janeiro State Secretariat of Culture, and LIGHT, I directed Enraizadas, a documentary that investigates Black ancestry through the use of braids. I am also a co-screenwriter for the documentary series Baía 360, which explores environmental issues surrounding Guanabara Bay, the largest bay in Latin America, for Agência Pública de Jornalismo.
In 2023, during a trip to South Africa, I directed a documentary web series on the connections between South African and Brazilian histories. In 2021, I was a writer and host of the podcast Filhos da Diáspora. With support from the Prince Claus Fund, the series explored the diverse connections between Black cultures in Latin America.
I collaborate with Cultne, a TV channel and audiovisual archive dedicated to Black narratives and memories in Brazil. I worked as a journalist at the Public Agency for Investigative Journalism (2016–2019), at Data_Labe (2019–2021), and at GloboNews (2022 and 2024).
