Zózimo Bulbul
Zózimo Bulbul artistic name of Jorge da Silva. He was a Brazilian actor, filmmaker, producer and screenwriter. One of the greatest exponents of Afro-Brazilian Cinematography in the 60s and 70s, Zózimo Bulbul made the history of black people in Brazil his way through cinema. As a film actor, he has worked in more than 30 films, acting in classics such as Terra em Trance, Compasso de Espera and As Daughters of the Wind. In 1969, he became the first black man to star in a Brazilian soap opera, Vidas em Conflict on TV Excelsior. In 1974 he made his debut as a director with the black and white short Alma no Olho. As a producer and screenwriter, until 2009 he made numerous short films and a feature, all focused on valuing black culture in Brazil.
