Angela Davis

Angela Yvonne Davis (Birmingham, January 26, 1944) is an American socialist professor and philosopher who achieved worldwide notoriety in the 1970s as a member of the United States Communist Party, the Black Panthers, for her advocacy for women's rights and against social and racial discrimination in the United States and for being a character in one of the most controversial and famous criminal trials in recent American history.
