Elza Soares

Elza worked as a boxer in a soap factory in Engenho de Dentro. In 1953, she entered the artistic life when she auditioned for the first time on Rádio Tupi, on the freshman show Ary Barroso, taking first place. Earlier in her career, she also worked at the Garam Bailes Orchestra, as a crooner, until 1954.
