Rap, marketed in the US, developed both inside and outside hip hop culture, and began with street parties in the 1970s by Jamaicans and others. They introduced the big popular parties in big warehouses, with the practice of having an MC, who would go up on stage with the DJ and cheer the crowd, shouting and encouraging with the rhymed words, until rap was formed. The origin of Rap came from Jamaica, more or less in the 1960s when sound systems appeared, which were placed on the streets of Jamaican ghettos to liven up balls.
