The documentary chronicles the history of Filhos de Gandhy, an afoxé group founded in 1949 by a group of Black workers at the docks of the Port of Salvador. Inspired by Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals of peaceful resistance, the group has become a symbol of the African presence in Brazil’s Carnival and cultural heritage.
