Beatriz Nascimento

Maria Beatriz Nascimento (1942-1995) was a contemporary black intellectual activist by Eduardo Oliveira and Oliveira, Lélia Gonzalez, and Hamilton Cardoso. She graduated in history from UFRJ. He led the creation of the André Rebouças Working Group, in 1974, at the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF), sharing with black students from Rio and São Paulo the discussion of racial issues in academia and education in general, like the Black Fortnight held at USP in 1977.
