Festival Rio Rendezvous 1992

In 1992 and 1993, Rio de Janeiro received about 1200 African-American tourists from different American cities. Each year traveling with tourists, DJs from various radio stations were present, including WBLS-FM in New York, WGCI-FM in Chicago, WDAS-FM, TV show Tony Brown and various artists such as Howard Hewwit , Tashan, Brenda Russell, Dione Warwick, Billy Paul, After 7, Gerald Alston, Brenda Russell, Mad Cobra, Miki Howard and Vesta Williams. The project was developed in partnership with Afro-American agencies, Riotur, the Rio de Janeiro tourism trade and the extinct Varig, the festival's official company.

Os Crioulos Band Show

The band Os Crioulos has 16 musicians forged at dances in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro in groups such as "Copa 7" and "Brasil Show", in addition to the emblematic "Banda Black Rio". Ray Lema and Margareth Menezes

Enugbarijô recorded Ray Lema's concert in Salvador, Bahia where the musician performed with a soup made by Bahian singer Margareth Menezes. An old acquaintance of Brazil, Chico César's partner, the musician opened the edition of Rock In Rio in 2001. Quite popular in France, where he lives today, Ray Lema is known for creating sounds from the traditional music of Congo, his country of origin, and also for its authorial language without limits of mergers with other rhythms. Pianist, composer, conductor and singer, Lema began his artistic career as a classical pianist. He played with big names in African music like Tabu Ley, Rochereau and Papa Wemba in the bars of Kinshasha. Participating witness to the birth of World Music, Lema is now known for creating sounds based on traditional Congo music and also for his authorial language without limits of merging with other rhythms. Before settling in France in 1982, he also lived in the United States.

Vissungo Group - black MPB

Cultne recorded the historic return of the Vissungo Group at the traditional Makula party, the only Guanabara party 100% dedicated to African rhythms that celebrated its second anniversary, at Multifoco, in Lapa, downtown Rio de Janeiro. In a special edition the night featured the return to the stage after 15 years of falling asleep of the historic group VISSUNGO, formed in the mid-1970s, and which, after its end in 1996, returns to active duty on the anniversary of the MAKULA party .

Cultne registered the IV Afro-Brazilian Music, Dance and Culture Festival involving the promotion of Afro-Brazilian culture. The Festival was held from January 25 to 30, 2011, with free admission to the seminar, music and dance shows and cultural workshops.

Central African Band - Pelourinho

The 20th of November 1988 the Enugbarijô by Vik Birkbeck and Ras Adauto grabó the show by Banda Central África in Pelourinho. The son of the band, Papa Rick, the vocal leader of the rastafarian band cantó for thousands of African-Americans in the release of the second LP Olodum Núbia Axum Ethiopia.

Cor da Pele recorded the sound of Alberto Jahsie during the launch event of the SOS Racism Program in 1987. Alberto is a composer, singer, guitarist, arranger, percussionist, bassist and producer. Born in Salvador, Bahia, living in Europe, he lived in several European cities, such as: Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin, participating in several festivals. In July 1996 he released his first album called "Dignité".
