Vera Passos - Gira & Casa das Pretas
Gira - Circularities of Diasporic African Dances with dancer Vera Passos at Casa das Pretas. Cultne recorded the dance workshop with images and editing by Filó Filho and Alexandre Dias. Gira is a series of activities in the format of studies and research on African diasporic dances carried out at Casa das Pretas and aims to spread and work on the female body history, identity and sensory. Its goal is to awaken self-esteem, especially among black women.

Musical direction by Antonio Krisnas. In February 1990, Rio de Janeiro hosted the performance of the Senegal Ballet in Rio de Janeiro. On the occasion, a performance of the instrument "Kora", the African harp. The ceremony was part of the commemorations of the Memorial Goreé Alamadies, located on the island of Goreé, place of departure for slaves to the Americas off the coast of Senegal.

During the first edition of the 1st Afro-Brazilian Gastronomy and Art Fair, which had as its premiere theme "gastronomy, culture and art". The event promoted by the Technical School Support Foundation (Faetec), had free admission with many cultural and gastronomic activities.

Gumboot was born as a form of communication between South Africans who worked in the gold mines in South Africa. In Brazil, the Gumboot Dance group in Brazil is practiced by people with different professional and physical profiles. Currently, 14 dancers have been immersed for three years in the research disseminated by Rubens Oliveira, who throughout this period, has conducted the methodology with his independent work. South African dance specialist: Gumboot Dance, in which he learned the technique from South African culture teacher Derik Mlamboo and the African group Kholwa Brothers. Its main masters were Ivaldo Bertazzo (BRA), Lourenço Homem (BRA-GER), Kanchan Maradan (IND), Inês Bogéa (BRA), Susana Mafra (BRA), Irineu Nogueira (BRA).

On the occasion, the Third Balaio das Yabás, organized by Ékèdi Maria Moura, was delivered. The event had the support of the Association of the Remaining Community of Quilombo Pedra do Sal - ARQPEDRA; the Negro Rights Council - Cedine; Afoxé Filhos de Ghandy; and the followers of Terreiro Angola Ilê Inzo Tumbenganga, from Itaboraí-RJ.

Carlos Mutala's performance preceded the presentation of the Rap Opera Malandragem by rapper P, 10 (Pevirguladez), an artist who combines trickery, literature, theater, dance and hip hop in his work.

The Cultne collection participated in the X FEIRA PRETA in the city of São Paulo, with a camera in hand and ideas in the head, Filó Filho and Pedro Oliveira recorded a series of videos that we presented as part of the Retrospective of the Cultne collection in 2011. Feira Preta promotes a productive chain that inserts black people in its various links, as producer and consumer. In this context, the qualification program also appears, with the aim of promoting business for entrepreneurs, micro-entrepreneurs and artisans, promoting the inclusion of the black population in the economic cycle and in the labor market. The Fair achieves this impact insofar as it reaffirms the identity of blacks in the form of appreciation.

Meeting of culture, citizenship, education and solidarity economy, Feira Preta brings together numerous representatives of Afro-Brazilian culture and dozens of entrepreneurs from different regions of Brazil. The opportunity to group so many participants in a single space, presenting each work in a broad way, and to feed the exchange of experiences, exchanges and conceptual discussions, adds a lot to the process of collective construction that promotes racial equality.
