Afro-Brazilian cuisine has its origin with the arrival of enslaved blacks to the colony. By recreating their delicacies with local ingredients, they establish new recipes and ways of preparing food. Likewise, when observing the dishes prepared by the indigenous people, such as pirão, moqueca and bobó. All of them were enriched with African products like coconut milk. From the moment that the slave trade grew, seeds and seedlings of African plants were brought by the Portuguese, such as coconut, oil palm, yam and so on.
