TRIBUTE TO 50 YEARS OF BLACK CONSCIOUSNESS DAY "In the 20th century, the Grupo de Estudos Palmares, from Porto Alegre, in the south of Brazil, took the initiative to organize a national mobilization in an attempt to refound a reference of memory and history for the black and Afro-descendant population.
