Afro block founded in the neighborhood of Madureira, suburb of Rio de Janeiro on April 4, 1982. The name Agbara Dudu in Yoruba means "Black Force". Considered the first Afro block in Rio de Janeiro, even though there were three previously: Afoxé Os Filhos de Gandhi do Rio de Janeiro (founded by workers from the Rio de Janeiro Wharf area), Dudu Éwe, from Morro da Mangueira, founded in 1980 and Afoxé Terê Babá (founded in Largo das Neves, in Santa Tereza), all with afoxé characteristics, that is, go out at the carnival singing themes from Bahian blocks (Afreketê, Olori, Oju-Obá, Muzenza, Malê-Debalê , Badauê and Ijexá Filhos de Gandhi) and songs related to the African religion, not maintaining community work or actions that would make them last outside the carnival.
