Amilcar Araújo Pereira holds a BA and a BA in History from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), a master's degree in Social Sciences from the State University of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) and a PhD in History from the Federal Fluminense University (UFF), with a year of doctoral internship at Johns Hopkins University, in the United States. He has experience in the areas of History Teaching, history of race relations, Afro-Brazilian history and culture, oral history, social movements, curriculum and teacher training.
