The Angolan singer living in Brazil, Abel Duërë spoke of his arrival in Rio de Janeiro and the beginnings of the Bar and Restaurant D'África in the 80s that worked as a great African point on Rua Andre Cavalcanti in the Lapa neighborhood in Rio. From Africa came the "batuque", the essence of our "Samba", the African atabaques, the parents of our rhythm, the ancestors of Samba. Over 3 centuries of slave trade, about 15 million slaves were brought to Brazil, 9 million were Angolans, a new Angola started to live here. Religion, customs, dances, the songs of the Orixás, the rites of the various African nations. This mix ended up in Samba.
